The travelling theatre "Brandboden or how Melk gets the coal out of the fire" tells the story of Melk the charcoal burner. loosely based on the story "The Cold Heart" by Wilhelm Hauff. The theatre guests are on their way through the Ballenberg and follow the legendary traces of the charcoal burner Melk.

Yes, it is officially one of them: One of the most beautiful campsites in Switzerland! The Aaregg family campsite is located directly on the beautiful Lake Brienz and only a few minutes away from the Trauffer Adventure World. Open from April to October, it is the place to be for all camping fans. 

What an experience - what a view! Switzerland's only cogwheel railway with daily steam operation has been thrilling visitors since 1892. And it's not just the squeaky, smoky train that makes this journey so fascinating, the view from the Brienzer Rothorn is fantastic. 

A boat trip is beautiful... and it is most beautiful on Lake Brienz! Relaxing and enjoying the magnificent natural scenery is even possible on a nostalgic steamboat, including a culinary pampering programme. 

The Aare Gorge is an impressive natural wonder: 1400m long and 200m deep, it lies in the Haslital, at the foot of the Grimsel and Susten Passes. The impressive gorge can be hiked over footbridges and through tunnels in about 45 minutes. Travel time from Hofstetten bei Brienz around 15 minutes.

How about a boat trip? From Brienz, the boat takes you directly to where the thundering waterfall flows into Lake Brienz: From the jetty, the historic funicular railway takes you up to the Grandhotel Giessbach. Grandhotel Giessbach, steeped in history. Take a journey into the past surrounded by beautiful nature.

From Grindelwald to the Jungfraujoch in just 45 minutes! The new V-Bahn Eiger Express takes you to the Eigergletscher station in just 15 minutes, in cabins with 26 seats, past the world-famous Eiger North Face.  From there it's off to the Jungfrau Railway and just half an hour later you're standing on the Jungfraujoch, 3,454 metres above sea level. Breathtaking!

The beautiful Axalp is not just a little paradise for skiers and fans of flight demonstrations.  Summer time offers excellent hiking to the enchanting Hinterburgseeli or the carving trail with around 100 carved figures along the way. And of course there is always refreshment in the charming restaurant.

In just 15 minutes you can go from the Trauffer adventure world to a skiing or hiking area! The Hasliberg - the sunny terrace of the Haslital - offers almost endless hiking trails and ski slopes for all levels. Children can enjoy the stories of the oldest Hasli dwarf Muggestutz in summer and in winter the "Skihäsliland" while adults can enjoy the slope-side restaurants and après-ski bars.

You can hike past massive waterfalls, romantic grottos and bizarre rock formations on a well maintained hiking trail. A breathtaking and refreshing excursion in a stunning landscape only 30 minutes away from the Trauffer adventure world.

Visit one of the most popular excursion destinations on Lake Thun? The interior of the St. Beatus Caves can be explored on a well-developed and illuminated path. Be amazed by the world stalactites, stalagmites and stalactite formations and enjoy the unique natural world. 

A highlight for the young and young-at-heart is the Haslital Skatepark - one of the few indoor skateparks in Switzerland. 400m² ensure that even demanding skaters won't get bored. Just like the Trauffer world of adventure, a perfect programme item even on rainy days!

Action? You'll get it when you get on your bike and take on the bike trail. 1,200 m long and 140 m difference in altitude - this obstacle-packed route has to be overcome without falling. Start at the Oberschwanden post bus stop, only 4 minutes by bike from Bretterhotel .
